how do i even sign up to get sync-ed? WHERE!!!

I had the same problem, but found the answer:
Once you have opened list.it in the side panel, you'll see six icons
lined up vertically on the top right side. The bottom icon is a
triangle colored orange. Click it to register for the synch service.

As I understand it, updated instructions for this process will be
included in the next release.

Sorry everyone, the registration box on the about page broke recently
and we didn't notice.
