Hello,

I am having difficulties with installing the fedora linux (ver9 for
i386). The problem is that the installation doesnt run after i reboot.
i burned the dvd file using winXP nero, and checked that the bios is
set for booting from cd drive. any suggestions for why isnt it
working? i dont know much about this, but when i browse the ISO file,
i see just two directories (inside they contain alot of data) , with
not files.

thanks in advance,
Yaron.

What sort of error(s) that you'd encountered during installation?
What do you mean that the installation doesn't run?
Please elaborate.

I opened my Fedora 9 dvd and it has 4 directories and some files in
the root directory of the disc. You probably need to download the iso
and burn it again.

Just to be sure that we are talking about the same file, this is a
link to such file:

http://download.fedoraproject.org/pub/fedora/linux/releases/9/Fedora/i386/iso/Fedora-9-i386-DVD.iso

is this correct?

thanks,
Yaron.

Yeah. That's where I downloaded mine from. If you want I'll add what
the directory structure should look like but it could have changed a
little since I downloaded mine about 2 months ago.

I wonder if the bios of your  machine supports booting off the cdrom/dvd drive? On my laptop if it can't boot off the pxe, external or hdd, (my cdrom is broken) it says no os found or something along those lines.

Maybe its not picking up the disk in the optical drive?

Did you turn off booting from the hard drive before or after the
installation was done?
