2009 was a good year for LinuxRI and here is to making 2010 even
better. Meetings will continue to be held at NEIT on the 2nd Saturday
of each month. Meeting typically go from about 11AM to 2PM, and are
free and open to the public. For directions and a calendar of upcoming
events along please visit our main website, www.linuxri.org.

Here is a sneak preview of whats coming up:

* In February we will be covering the Linux Kernel. By the end of
this meeting you should have a good idea what the kernel is,
differences between various versions, how to compile it yourself, and
much more.
* March we will bring our attention to virtualization. The focus will
be placed on hardware virtualization techniques such as KVM, but other
hypervisors will be covered.
* We also have a number of items that we will be raffling off at the
end of each of these meetings.
* Of course there will be some more tasty treats as well.

I'd like to thank our members for your continued support and
attendance. I'd also like to give a special thanks to the members who
have also volunteered to keep each meeting moving on. I could not have
done it with out you.

Regards,
Mike Perry

Indeed, I've gotten my hands on a few more freebies to give away the next meeting. In fact, I happen to have a copy of "Understanding the Linux Kernel" From O'Reilly Media to raffle off, along with a copy of "The Art of Community".

Again, O'Reilly is really looking for reviews from those members who take home the books. Please email me a perma-link to your review(s) so that I may share them with our friends at O'Reilly.

I also have a Linux Jounral T-Shirt to raffle off at our next meeting.
