Hello there !
I've a machine running FC3 with python-2.3.4, and gcc 3.4.4 20050721
(Red Hat 3.4.4-2) When I run yum on my machine I'm getting this strange
messages
*******************yum message start***********************
There was a problem importing one of the Python modules
required to run yum. The error leading to this problem was:

No module named yum

Please install a package which provides this module, or
verify that the module is installed correctly.

It's possible that the above module doesn't match the
current version of Python, which is:
2.3.4 (#1, Feb 2 2005, 12:11:53)
[GCC 3.4.2 20041017 (Red Hat 3.4.2-6.fc3)]

If you cannot solve this problem yourself, please send this
message to <y...@lists.linux.duke.edu>.
*******************yum message end**************************
Actually yum worked perfectly fine for last six months on this
machine but suddenly after 'Aug-20-2005' when it did the last update,
yum started to cry like this. Earlier it's prompting with some other
message complaining abt python version and etc, so today I'd donwload
and install a new yum-2.4.0.tar.gz from

http://linux.duke.edu/projects/yum/download/2.4/
and now yum is giving the above messages. One more thing, after the
same date that's Aug-20-2005, rpm is also not working; Could someone
tell me what's gone wrong and what should I do to come out of this?
