Mustek 1200UB scanner - well, it used to work...

...And now it doesn't.

Plugging it into the USB port gets the following in my /var/log/messages
:-

Aug 5 17:51:30 hobgoblin /etc/hotplug/usb.agent: Setup usbcam for USB
product 55f/6/100
Aug 5 17:51:30 hobgoblin /etc/hotplug/usb.agent: Module setup usbcam
for USB product 55f/6/100

usbcam is the only thing in my usb.usermap file (and I've no idea how to
set that up anyway...)

Anyone know what I've broken, and how to mend it?

It would seem that a libc upgrade changes the library search order &
breaks sane. The fix is to use a newer version of sane. I've installed
sane-backends-1.0.9-5.5 and sane-frontends-1.0.9-2 on my RH8.0 system,
and scanning now works properly again.

The RPMs are available from rpm.pbone.net.
