I am just in case it is corrupt, downloading the ISO for disk 4 again.
I have used several other distributions of linux including some of
redhats previous versions, and never had this sort of problem installing
before.
If anyone else has had this problem whether they have resolved it or not
could you please post a response.
Thanks for any help or info in advance.
Paul
Have you selected the "install everything" option during the installation ?
, this could be the problem , I had quite a few problems with selecting this
option and I have also got the same error message as you on disk 4 during
installation.
What you could try is to select the "Customised" version and then select all
the packages manually , but don't select the "Everything" option.
Than after the installation , go through disks 2 ,3 and 4 and manually
install the RPMs , it won't take long and you will get a message if the
package is already installed.
I used the rpm command of
rpm -ivh <rpm>
You can reinstall most of the packages , but stay away from the kernel
packages.
A lot of the packages on disk 4 are usually the "extras" that you can live
without.
Also make sure that in your BIOS the settings for the HDD is set to "User
Defined" with LBA instead of [Auto Detect]
To install everything , you will need 6.7 Gb of HDD space , a typical
install like I did is around 4 Gb
