xfs uses list_sort (library function), so it needs to select it.
Fixes these build errors:
fs/xfs/linux-2.6/xfs_buf.c:1918: undefined reference to `list_sort'
fs/xfs/linux-2.6/xfs_buf.c:1996: undefined reference to `list_sort'

Confirming that fixed it, thanks. Am now up on 33-mmotm0302.

Sorry. I can't reproduce this here. Can you send .config?

Looks OK, but when and why did a config option get introduced for
this? I thought that Andi was trying to cull unused symbols in
library functions automatically, so config options weren't needed...

FWIW, did UBIFS and DRM also get this select line added to them?

Cheers,

Dave.

I just checked and both of those already select LIST_SORT.

Hmmm - google finds it easily enough. It was the third patch in the
second version of the list_sort() optimise series. I don't recall
seeing that version and I can't find it in my archives, so maybe
it got dropped somewhere along the way to me. <shrug>

Ah, somehow I put my silly typo... really sorry about that.

The following patch can be applied to mm after applying another
dma_unmap fix:

http://marc.info/?l=linux-kernel&m=126759183815898&w=2

Andrew, can you apply the following patch. This should be fold into
dma-mappingh-add-the-dma_unmap-state-api.patch after
dma-mappingh-add-the-dma_unmap-state-api-fix.patch.
