That one is interesting to me.. I suspect it may be the same cause
as for https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=21952

I have one of those Samsung (N210) Netbooks here: works fine with 2.6.34 and
earlier,
but fails to come out of suspend on 2.6.35/2.6.36 (haven't tried 2.6.37).

So perhaps add 21952 to the list, or link it to the 21652
(kind of amusing how similar the bug numbers are..).

My non-Intel graphics notebook (has ATI X1400 graphics) also has a resume
regression with 2.6.36. But it does work fine with 2.6.35 (and earlier,
back many years). As a result, I'm stuck with 2.6.35 for the time being,
and lack the time for a concerted debug effort on 2.6.36+ right now.

Cheers

The fix is in:

git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tip/linux-2.6-tip.git
perf/urgent

6c0aca288e726405b01dacb12cac556454d34b2a
("x86: Ignore trap bits on single step exceptions")

And should reach mainline soon.

Thanks.

This bug is still present in 2.6.37-rc2, but (as the original reporter)
I now doubt it should be classified as a regression. It looked as if
it was a regression because in the 2.6.35 kernel (the first kernel to
include intel idle), intel idle was available as a kernel module and
that module never in fact loaded on my hardware and so never caused a
hang. In 2.6.36 onwards, intel idle is only available directly compiled
into the kernel and that is when the hang became apparent: subsequent
testing shows that the hang also occurs with 2.6.35 if intel idle is
compiled in rather than as a module.

So it is a bug, which is still present, but not necessarily a
regression.

It now comes back at resume time.

But suffers long delays (also sometimes with 2.6.35) doing this:

[drm:atom_op_jump] *ERROR* atombios stuck in loop for more than 5secs aborting
[drm:atom_execute_table_locked] *ERROR* atombios stuck executing E576 (len 105,

So I did this (local hack only, obviously NOT for mainline) to work around that
issue:
