How do I programatically put an icon in the G menu in GNOME under SUSE
Linux?
More specifically where do I have to put the .desktop link file or do
some other thing, so that it is shown in the GNOME G menu? Please
help!

Open Nautilus, open the "Go" Menu and choose "start-here". There you open
"Applications". You can also enter "applications:///" directly as
location.
