Relooking at the discussion, it appears it was quite clear, the sound
herd does not want to maintain it, no one else stepped up, it would be
put in an overlay once it was punted.

Not really. It should have been gone long ago, but every time someone
took over to save it from its long overdue fate. Just let it die,
rather than hanging around zombie-like in the tree for another eternity.

Yes that will happen in many situations; anything that depends on xmms
libs will need to be rebuilt without them ;)
