da qualche aggiornamento a questa parte sulla mia sid è scomparsa
l'icona di gnome music player daemon client (gmpc): come posso fare a
ricrearla?

Alacarte è un editor valido per il menu di gnome.

Dalle dipendenze e dalle spiegazioni parrebbe un programma per gnome < 3

Scusa, non avevo letto bene la domanda.
Si installa tranquillamente su gnome3 senza portarsi dietro nulla di strano.
Anzi sulla mia sid con gnome3 era già installato.

Si dovrebbe evitare di lavorare su n > 1 computer contemporaneamente:
stavo provando ad installarlo sul server, il quale, curiosamente :-) si
lamentava che per installare alacarte si doveva tirare dietro nmila
dipendenze non installate.
