I'm just trying to get X working on my alpha. It has a Matrox Millenium
card, which doesn't seem to work with the mga driver:
(II) MGA: driver for Matrox chipsets: mga2064w, mga1064sg, mga2164w,
mga2164w AGP, mgag100, mgag100 PCI, mgag200, mgag200 PCI, mgag400,
mgag550
(WW) MGA: No matching Device section for instance (BusID PCI:0:13:0) found
(EE) No devices detected.
But lspci detects the card:
0000:00:0d.0 VGA compatible controller: Matrox Graphics, Inc. MGA 2064W [Millennium] (rev 01)
Seems to me, that the pci ID is unknown to the mga-driver. Has anyone this
card running on an Alpha?

Does the XFree86 bus probe show the card (way up from your error message
in /var/log/XFree86.0.log?

Try putting
BusID "PCI:00:13:00"
in the "Device" section of your /etc/X11/XF86Config-4.
