Subject: Is mh_checkrepo in maven-repo-helper needed?
Hi,

maven-repo-helper contains the executable mh_checkrepo. It does not seem to be
useful to me. Can I remove it and the corresponding java code? That would save
a lot of work.

It would even be easier to remove the tool now and rewrite it once I've
finished the refactoring of the base data structures.

Regards,

Thomas Koch, http://www.koch.ro

I'm using mh_checkrepo for QA work : for instance, when packaging a new
java library for Debian it's a convenient tool to avoid uploading a package
which depends on missing libraries or wrong version (ie. issues within
maven.rules and friends).

But I'm ok for the removal of this tool if you can work more effectively
on your refactoring.
Maybe we can rewrite it from stratch using genuine artifact API from Maven
(Maven Aether - libaether-java) and a custom Maven repository indexer I've
wrote some time ago [1].
