Debian FAQ, translation infrastructure, please review

is a Debian FAQ, converted to DocBook XML + PO4A + UTF-8. I
would like to invite everyone to try out/review this branch.
Notes:
- de, fr, it, and zh_CN are converted to PO, because we actually
build those
- es, pl, pt_BR, ru, and uk are currently not used, so I did not
yet convert them to PO
- nearly all translations are fuzzy for now - translators need
to review all phrases anyway

I added po files for es. Translators desperately needed for
reviewing every single word.

Since june, there has been some work done on the "old" debian-faq
branch. Is the dbk-po4a-utf8 branch ready for translators now, or is
some manual merging needed first?
I'd like to especially ask the
zh_CN, it
translators for updates (if we don't get any reply within a reasonable
timeframe, I'll remove those packages). And I'm optimistic about
getting updates of the
es, pt_BR
translations. If we get these, I'll create packages debian-faq-es and
debian-faq-pt-br.

The latter. If I'm not totally wrong, we need to update
everything from 2008-05-19 on, when I created the new branch.
5157 was the last common ground. My impression is, that in the
English version only the file "software.sgml" has one (small)
change. All other changes are in translations, changelogs etc.
Is this correct?

Many strings are traslated for other person, but in the po there isn't
their names. Where are available the names of old italian traslators?

Hrm, say, 2 months, _after_ I've sent a request of translation updates
to the zh_CN and it translators.

Some .po expert can answer these questions. There's a lot of
information about .po on the www too, btw.

Yes, from today :-(
But I think that it is a fast work, untraslated string are little, the
big work is only a revision of fuzzy entries.

Yes, it's OK, but I believe it's better to wait untill the manual

You didn't answer (or I did not get the answer), whether the
small change in software.sgml was the only relevant change to
the FAQ since 2008-05-19. If so, I can fix this today and we
can start pestering translators :~)

Done. I took the liberty of re-phrasing: "..., qmail nor ezmlm is

Feel free to correct my pseudo-English in SVN :~)
(Btw: I would like to make use of the DocBook elements
qanda*/question/answer for the FAQ, but we can do that later,
after some tests. It will not influence translations.)
