Because this is a commercial, and there is a $1000 charge to advertise
on debian lists (to discourage spam).

Although Bruce always told me that the charge was not for Debian
developers marketing Debian products, that really isn't the reason.

I am only the author. I signed an NDA with the Publisher. Linux Press
makes all announcements about "The Debian User's Guide" distribution and
sales.

BTW, I never saw the original posting of this thread, so thanks Johnie for
replying ;-)
