Dear QA people,

While triaging bugs that don't belong to any package I have found these:

$ querybts --buglist timeout
Querying Debian BTS for reports on timeout...
#531025 change in usage should be doc in NEWS. timeout command always take 'time' seconds to finish
#585745 Please drop timeout binary package
#520323 wrong exit code when timeout not reached
#531787 timeout move to coreutils?
#639197 timeout program does not return exit status of executed program
#399769 timeout: bad support for processes which use a process group
#292817 timeout: Please support more time formats

As far as I can tell the package is not in Debian anymore[1] so I
propose closing these bugs. If there is no disagreement I will do so in
a few days.

[1] packages.debian.org only shows a hit in debports

Kind regards,
Andrei

These can obviously be closed, because timeout is now indeed provided by
coreutils.

After a quick glance, it seems to me that coreutils' version of timeout
behaves correctly in all these cases, but you might want to double-check
that.

Implemented in the coreutils version, see "timeout --help".

Seems good to me.

Cheers,

packages.qa.debian.org/timeout helps :-)

The package is still in oldstable, bugs will be closed automatically when
oldstable is archived. -> Nothing to do here.

Oh, I thought 'oldstable' was reactivated on p.d.o. Ok, I'll just use
the PTS next time.

Ok, good to know, removed from my TODO list.

BTW, would you know why 'rmadison' also comes up empty?

Nope.

adsb@franck:~$ dak ls timeout
adsb@franck:~$

That would explain why rmadison also came up empty, but why does the PTS
claim the package is still in oldstable? Maybe it's looking at lenny?

On the mirrors, we seem to have a source package that generates two binary
packages (tct and timeout, both arch:any), but only one of these binary
packages is there.

http://http.debian.net/debian/pool/main/t/tct

I can't explain that either. rmadison is using UDD and UDD uses the Packages
files. Is it possible that this binary package was removed somehow which is
why dak doesn't know about it, it was removed from Packages and then the
orphaned .deb removed from the pool? I don't think I've ever seen a single
binary from a source package removed.

cheers
Stuart
