Package: kdeartwork-style
Version: 3.2.2-1
Severity: normal

The Mac OS X-Bar style menu has a 1-pixel wide non-active edge. This makes it
impossible to just hit the mouse pointer against the upper edge of the
screen, making targeting more difficult and flagrantly violating the KDE User
Interface guidelines. The bug existed in the main KDE code as well, but has
been fixed long ago. Other distributions (e.g. SuSE) also do not exhibit this
bug, so it likely is a problem with the debian version. It should be quite
easy to fix. Considering that this all but obsoletes the mac osx- menubar
feature, the minimal effort it will require to fix this should be put in
rather soon. The main KDE bug tracker marked this FIXED almost six months
ago. The number on bugs.kde.org is 61560, and yes, I am aware that it is
marked a Kicker bug. It still applies.

I am using the Debian unstable current as of May 16, 2004, including KDE
3.2.2

reassign 249202 kicker
thanks mate

Confirmed on my machine as well.

Though this is a generic menu problem, not specific to kdeartwork -- I'm
reassigning to kicker accordingly (under the assumption that it's the
menubar applet at fault).

Do you know how to fix it? (i.e., what is the basis for your claim that
it's an easy fix?)

This was marked FIXED, though nothing was changed in the KDE sources --
they just say that you need to patch Qt. It's not clear however which
patch you're supposed to apply.

Anyway, I'm passing this on to the kdebase people.

Ben.
