Dear Release Team,

I am filing this bug for the transition of the "libmicrohttpd" package.

Upstream released a new version, bumping the ABI version (SONAME) from 5
to 10.

Among the reverse deps, it may not be necessary to binNMU gnunet, since
a new version is waiting for a sponsor on mentors.

A sponsor already uploaded the libmicrohttpd package to unstable.

Best regards,
Bertrand

You're supposed to check with us when it's OK to get your package
uploaded, not tell us after that has heppened…

Since both libmicrohttpd & mysqlclient are entangled through gnunet, I
think we could start binNMUing libmicrohttpd's reverse dependencies; we
might remove gnunet from testing at some point if needed, given its
reverse dependencies are just gnunet-* packages, which are orphaned, as
gnunet is. (Smooth updates should do the work without any removal I
think, but it's like 4am so I might be on crack.)

Unless I hear objections, I'll probably schedule those “tomorrow”.

BinNMUs for libmicrohttpd scheduled.

It's fine with me. GNUnet 0.8 is not very useful anyway since it is not
compatible with 0.9 and there are not many users left on the 0.8 network.

libmicrohttpd migrated tonight, with a bunch of binNMUs. The old binary
stays in testing for the following packages:
| # Broken Depends:
| gnunet: gnunet-server [amd64 armhf i386 ia64 powerpc s390 s390x sparc]

→ Those picked a dependency on new mysql.

| xbmc: xbmc-bin [amd64 i386]

→ Same for this one, plus not old enough, plus out of date binaries
(see: http://release.debian.org/britney/update_excuses.html#xbmc).

Since the initial push to testing happened, moving the tracker from
ongoing to finished, and pointing to this mail from the notes for
reference.

KiBi.
