Package: librdf0-dev
Version: 1.0.7-1
Severity: normal

I'd like to package morla, a GUI RDF editor, but it uses gnutls and so
needs a librdf linked against gnutls (not libssl), I believe.

Even if mixing does not cause technical problems, there's still the
licensing problem of (indirectly) linking GPL-licensed morla with
libssl. Other packages might need to avoid libssl too in the future.

All in all, I would like for you to either switch to gnutls by default,
or provide a "flavor" of librdf linked against gnutls instead of libssl
- similar to libcurl.

Kind regards,

- Jonas

Looking further, it seems that your package actually violates the
licensing of openssl/libssl: this GPL code it incompatible with the
openssl license!

If technically possible, I believe the problem can be solved by linking
against gnutls instead of openssl.
