Hi,

My system is last Lenny.

I had the same output described before:

User properties not found. It will be automatically created.
Done.User properties not found. It will be automatically created.
Done.
Default (System) Look & Feel: javax.swing.plaf.metal.MetalLookAndFeel
Warning: the font you have set as standard - null - is not available.

I went there (http://freemind.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php\
/FreeMind_on_Linux) as you suggested but it didn't help.

As the say java6 is not supported, I removed it. But it didn't help.

Then I googled this:
[Freemind-Developer-Internal-Warning (do not write a bug report, please)]: Tried to get view without being able to get map module.

I found this:
http://seraphyn.deveth.org/archives/435-Freemind-Debian-Lenny-Startprobleme.html

I followed there advices: I did:
# update-alternatives --config java
1 /usr/bin/gij-4.3
2 /usr/bin/gij-4.2
3 /usr/lib/jvm/java-1.5.0-sun/jre/bin/java
*+ 4 /usr/lib/jvm/java-gcj/jre/bin/java
5 /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun/jre/bin/java

then I selected:
3 /usr/lib/jvm/java-1.5.0-sun/jre/bin/java

Though they say:
You can make Java 5 the default JRE by using the command update
java-alternatives -s java-1.5.0-sun, but you don't need to.

Though It still outputs some warning:

User properties found.
Default (System) Look & Feel: javax.swing.plaf.metal.MetalLookAndFeel
Warning: the font you have set as standard - null - is not available.

[Freemind-Developer-Internal-Warning (do not write a bug report, please)]: Tried to get view without being able to get map module.

It will start.

Regards

Fully

Hi,

this bug is pending closing due to the version 0.7.1-7 pending in NEW.
Fact is that FreeMind needs a full Java version, either Sun's one or
OpenJDK6, and I can't make it work with gcj, hence the resolution will
be that FreeMind will spit an error stating that FreeMind won't work in
case you don't use the right VM.

Not a perfect resolution, but the best I can do,
Eric
