Hello,
The file /usr/lib/cgi-bin/gsearch.cgi is not listed in either
`dpkg -L global` or in md5sums
% dpkg -S /usr/lib/cgi-bin/gsearch.cgi
dpkg: /usr/lib/cgi-bin/gsearch.cgi not found.
Thanks,
Franklin

I find this to be an important feature.

Wouldn't it be possible to generate the file at build time?
Or maybe upstream could modify the script so it can use a configuration
file (in /etc ?).
Thanks,

I don't understand what problem you have or what you are trying to solve,
sorry. The package creates a system-wide version for you on install, and
you are free to create local or custom versions on demand.
All the tools are there for that, I don't know what you think is missing.

I think it is important to know which package provide which file.
Both "dpkg -L" and "dpkg -S" provides incomplete result.
