  Hi, &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;Actually it is best to create /boot as ext3 and then rest of harddrive &lt;br&gt; to make a physical volume --&amp;gt; volumegroup --&amp;gt; and thenlogical volumes &lt;br&gt; as per rquirement. &lt;br&gt; most of linux distros now a days allow you to set that up during &lt;br&gt; installation. &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;LVM is more popular now a days as you can expand / shrink (bit tricky)
