configure a domain in linux

hai friends.... I have a linux box which is used as a server for windows workgroup.. I configured samba and its working fine... Now I am asked to make it a domain becoz of security issues.. 	actually I found out that I need to make a initrd.gz file so it will load the usb module before mounting the root file system. 	Kernel panic on slackware
	Hi, I am trying to run slackware off of a external 60Gb Seagate Hd. The installation goes fine but when I attempt to boot it checks the BIOS successfully but after a few lines of booting it stops and reports a kernel panic.
