What's the version the parser used in the web demo (http://
www.link.cs.cmu.edu/link/submit-sentence-4.html)?
I'm getting different results when I run 4.7.3 locally with default
parse options, for some sentence.

Version 4.1b There have been a vast number of bug fixes since then.

None of us here have access to that machine, and so it continues
to run the old version.

Linas,

This suggests to me that it might be nice to put up a Web demo with
the current version of the link parser, perhaps giving RelEx results
as well. We used to have such a demo running in Brazil, for private
use only, but it was taken down a while ago. Perhaps we could run
this on an OpenCog server?

I've often thought about this, but have shied away mostly due to
security concerns. Which aren't exactly rational. My two servers here
get about a dozen script-kidde-style hacking attempts every hour.

ssh passwd guessing goes on almost constantly. (BTW, a large
fraction of these are from chinese ip addrs).

So I fear that setting up the demo, I'll make some stupid apache
config error or whatever. Like I said, I'm being sort-of irrationally
fearful here.

Hmmm... if nobody wants to host this, perhaps we should get OpenCog a
MediaTemple shared-server account just for demos.... It's not that
expensive these days, probably Novamente could foot the bill for
starters...

Linas,
I've no problem setting up such a demo on one of my servers... I'm probably
less likely to make such an Apache config error, and I employ "anti-hammer"
on all open sockets (essentially blacklists IP's after a set number of
failed access attempts within a given time period)

What I would do is set it up on a VPS... that way even if it did get
"hacked", it wouldn't be a risk to the more important things I'm hosting, or
anyone's personal data.

Regards,
Simon

If you're willing to do this, that would be excellent!
