Meeting notes from Tuesday 17th January 2012

I didn't take any notes so don't consider these a full meeting minutes
but as the new secretary I should put up something. So from what I can
remember:
Some suggestions were made on promoting the space:
Getting a stall some day at the milk market where we sell kits or
show some of our work.
A coding night Thursdays or Tuesdays (can't remember what we
finished on).
We had someone in the space for most Tuesdays last year and we
should try and promote this as an open night where people can come in
and get help with there projects.
CAD workshop/tutorials
The Electronics Boot-camp may be run again on a Saturday or
Saturdays.
In general the focus will be to get existing members and guests to
turn up on Tuesday evenings and will make an effort to come up with a
Theme and announce the Tuesday night activities.
Some votes were taken for the available positions of Secretary and
Chairman.
I (Trevor Power) will be the new Secretary.
Conall Cheevers will be the new Chairman.
Some new toys:
A general purpose workbench was purchased. It is small but looks
very solid and has two vices built in.
There was sewing machine donated to the space that people are free
to use. I will try and dig up a manual and maybe someone can
demonstrate its usage some night.
If you can think of anything else that I missed please add to this
thread.

I'll put something together for a CAD workshop after we know what capabilities the guys in PetHouseDesigns have. Basically there are a few different types of CAD out there, and it'd be good to go with something that can be fed into the CNC software those guys are using.
I'll see about doing a night on sensors sometime too. Maybe in 2 or 3 weeks time.

Sorry I couldn't make it along to offer my formal resignation but I've been up the walls with work lately :(
Anyway, delighted to see Trevor and Conall taking up the vacant posts - congrats!
Marty, I'll try to call in some Tuesday night soon to give you the recent bank statements. Let me know if you want to change things with the bank to get them sent to you.
