Golf For All                                                     -  PLEASE READ TO THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE 

Golf Union Of Malawi (G.U.O.M.) is currently undertaking to promote and develop junior golf nationwide. Based upon the theme “Golf For All” this will promote the possibility of extending golf to all young people interested under the age of eighteen years, boys and girls. G.U.O.M. is funded by R&A (Royal & Ancient) the golfing governing body associated with Malawi since 1959. Mr. Chris Kachiguma is the national golf coach and is currently working for G.U.O.M. and is responsible for all golf related training and developing activities in Malawi. The objectives of this program are intended as follows:

Ø  PROVIDE MONTHLY GOLF CLINICS IN LILONGWE, BLANTYRE AND LIMBE

Ø  ORGANISE MONTHLY ETIQUETTE AND TRAINING CLASSES

Ø  SUPERVISE AND ARRANGE MONTHLY JUNIOR GOLF MUG COMPETITIONS

Ø  CREATE FROM THE MONTHLY MUGS A NATIONAL ORDER OF MERIT

Ø  IDENTIFY AND PROMOTE NATURAL TALENT IN MALAWI

Ø  CATEGORISE ALL JUNIORS TO ALLOCATED STANDARDS OF PROGRESS

Ø  TO CREATE ORGANISING COMMITTEES AS NECESSARY TO OVERVIEW ACTIVITIES UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF G.U.O.M. DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

Ø  TO IDENTIFY AND PREPARE A SUITABLE BOY AND GIRL TO REPRESENT MALAWI AT THE BRITISH OPEN JUNIOR GOLF
