Large memory consumption by lighttpd 1.5

Hi all,
I have compiled lighttpd from trunk, my host is OpenVZ based - and i
noticed a large memory consumption, of virt memory about 40 MB - while
lighttpd 1.4 consumes about 5 MB of virt memory. It's not
configuration issue - it behaves when all modules are loaded and when
none is loaded. It's problematic when you have 128 MB of guaranteed
memory.
I was trying to solve this on IRC, but nobody have an idea for solving
this problem. Although lighttpd has so far smallest memory footprint
for example compared to cherokee which used about 150 MB ;)
