The version
of Lightning for 4D you've been waiting for is finally here, develop
powerful Desktop AND Mobile 4D Web Apps!
There are many new
features, including support for an alternative Web Server based on
Rob Laveaux's NTK plugin, new tags, new callbacks, new methods, new
JavaScript and enhancements to existing methods and lots
more!
Lightning v2 incorporates the jQuery Mobile platform for
full touch capabilities and a native UI for iOS and Android
devices.
The high level tag language provided by Lightning is
easy to learn, it's the SAME for both Desktop and Mobile forms and is
designed to assist rapid development. You can still do all of your
core programming in 4D and let Lightning take care of everything else
on the web, independent of device.
Lightning is suitable for
beginners to advanced users and beyond...

Updates for the source are usually on-demand for fixing specific customer issues. When a production version is announced then everyone who has a valid licence will get the source update at that time.
