Daemon translation

I'm working in translating the daemon into Spanish. When I try to
convert the .po file to a gmo by doing "make update-po" I get the
following error:
$ make update-po
make licq.pot-update
make[1]: Entering directory `/home/seba/Bajado/licq-20061020/po'
make[1]: *** No rule to make target `remove-potcdate.sed', needed by
`licq.pot-update'. Stop.
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/seba/Bajado/licq-20061020/po'
make: *** [update-po] Error 2
Any help? I don't have any problems with qt-gui translation.

Great to hear you're working on a Spanish translation!
About the missing file, it's my fault. I removed one file too many when doing
some cleanup. It has been added again in r4724. Please update from svn or
just download this file
http://trac.licq.org/browser/trunk/licq/po/remove-potcdate.sin?format=raw
and save it in the licq/po directory.

I downloaded the file and the problem is fixed. Now I have another
problem. I started working some time ago on daemon translation, but I
had to abandon it for a while because I didn't have time. Now I tried
to start it again, but when I do make update-po, I get the following
error:

rm -f es.gmo && /usr/bin/msgfmt -c --statistics -o es.gmo es.po
es.po:2028: number of format specifications in 'msgid' and 'msgstr'
does not match
/usr/bin/msgfmt: found 1 fatal error
447 translated messages, 2 fuzzy translations, 426 untranslated messages.
make[1]: *** [es.gmo] Error 1
I think there's a problem with the different versions. I'm probably
using an outdated template. Is there any way of merging the
translations that I've lready made to the new template and start
working with the new one? I looked for such option in Kbabel, but I
couldn't find it. :-(
Any suggestions?

I think this error means that on line 2028 you have translated a string that
has %s or similar in it but missed the %s in your translation. You could use
Tools -> Validation -> Check syntax and then Go -> Next error (in KBabel) or
just edit the file with your favourite text editor and go to line 2028 and
compare the translation with the original text to see if you missed any %s
(or %<something>).

Solved, thanks!
I tried my partial translation, but I checked on my "network window",
where I suppose the messages from the daemon are sent, but they're
still in English. What am I doing wrong? Maybe the output isn't
supposed to be seen in the network window. In this case, where can I
check the translated messages?
The qt-gui gets fully translated, but the daemon isn't.
I'm really sorry for wasting your time with such stupid questions. :-(

Make sure your LANG variable is set to the correct localization. For German it
looks like this:
$ echo $LANG
de_DE@euro
The qt-gui is influenced by the KDE settings.
