Subject: [mla-section] reminder: Ignite session

Hi all,

A friendly reminder that the submissions for MLA 2011’s Ignite sessions are
due next Monday!  I’ve included the original announcement below in case you
didn’t see it the first time.

Got something to say at MLA 2011? Can you squeeze it into five minutes? Then
we've got the gig for you!  The Ignite Paper session at MLA is looking for
papers!

Ignite is a fast-paced and fun presentation style. Each speaker gets five
minutes: 20 slides that automatically advance every 15 seconds. Intimidated?
Don't be! The constraints make for short, high-energy, and to-the-point
presentations. To get a better idea, you can browse thousands of recorded
Ignite talks at http://igniteshow.com/

We have room for 12 speakers, each with an idea about health, information,
technology, or any subject relevant to the conference. Use your imagination!
Submit an abstract of up to 250 words at http://z.umn.edu/mlaignite/ by
March 28, 2011 and you will hear back by April 11, giving you plenty of time
to put your slide deck together and work out your patter. The presentations
will be video-recorded and disseminated for MLA '11 attendees, at home and
at the meeting.

For more information, or an encouraging word, contact Wayne Loftus
(walof...@umn.edu<mailto:walof...@umn.edu>).

Thanks for contributing your paper submissions!
