Hi everyone -

There's been an explosion of fitness-related games for Wii, Xbox and PS3, and I've been rushing to fill demand from patrons. A number of these games (Zumba Fitness, for one) come with some kind of elastic band that you use to attach a Wiimote or Move controller to your arm or waist. Do you circ these accessories? Can people play without them? I've got some on order now, and I'm trying to figure out what to do once they come in.

Thanks,
Toby

We had to circulate them together. The catalogers did some research on the zumba fitness for Wii and it doesn’t play as well if you don’t have the wiimote in the band around your waist. We keep our games behind the circulation desk, so when a patron comes to check it out we just give them everything and we have marked in the record what should be there upon return and how much it would cost for replacement.

HTH,

Kristin

I just purchased Zumba Fitness 2 for myself. The game is designed to
track hip movements, so holding the Wiimote in your hand would not
work well. I also read various reviews on Amazon, and learned that the
Wiimote has to be in the belt with the sensor end up and the end with
the strap down. Otherwise your movements are not registered. The
documentation does not make this extremely clear.

If the issue is more of a sanitary nature and less of a problem with having to accommodate a bulky item in the video games section, you could look into Wiimote Holsters. See link for more details.

Hi Toby,

I have seen come through our system several of these items, and we have one ourselves that has a belt included.
We have not had any problems so far with people that are not returning the accessories, and as of yet, no complaints about
not being able to get them to work properly.

We have everything included in the box the game and attachments come in, and so far they are holding up well.

Hope this helps!
