I am buying new game program supplies and am curious to know if anyone
is still playing DDR in their programs. More to the point, what types
of dance pads are holding up the best?

I saw the older posts regarding Cobalt Blue and Red Octane pads - for
those of you who have had them for a few years... do you still think
that they were worth the extra money?

For folks who went the cheap route - how long did the cheap pads last
before you had to replace them?

Thanks!

We are still playing DDR at my library but I have definitely noticed a shift for my kids away from DDR and toward Rock Band etc.  I have the medium level pads (not medal, but with the inch thick of foam) and they've held up well for over a year with no problem.  I don't know that I'd invest the Cobalt Flux ones at this point, but your library may be different than mine.

We have been using the Cobalt Flux dance pads for our gaming events
and they have worked really well for us. We have also made up the
coast of the pads and the console by renting out the equipment to
schools and other libraries for their own events.
The other nice thing about the Cobalt pads are their ability to be
used on all kinds of terrain. They can be used on thick carpet, stone,
wood, gravel and grass so you can brings your games with you to any
event.
I have noticed that Rock Band has gained more popularity than DDR but
the teens still like variety and will get sick of just one game quick.
If you use both Rock Band and DDR at alternating events or even at the
same event it helps keep the audience coming.
