Next Stargazing: December 5th, 8:00–10:00 p.m.
Status: ON TIME

The Lawrence Hall of Science at the University of California, Berkeley holds FREE public Stargazing every 1st & 3rd CLEAR Saturday Night of each month, year-round. Stargazing runs for about 2 hours (weather permitting), from approximately 8:00-10:00pm in the Fall-Winter and from 9:00-11:00pm in the Spring-Summer. We meet on the large, open Main Plaza in front of the entrance to the museum.

The perimeter lights of the Plaza are turned off during Stargazing for viewing of the Moon, star clusters, galaxies, and more through astronomical telescopes. LHS Planetarium staff and other amateur astronomers from around the Bay Area will be available to help answer your questions about astronomy and space in this comfortable, informal setting.

There is plenty of free parking at the Hall after hours. However, please note that the Hall and all public restrooms and other facilities are closed during Stargazing. Dress warmly and check visibility before coming up to the Hall. Foggy and overcast skies can cancel Stargazing at the last minute.
