the meat grinder / scoring
|
| |
...
I wonder if it would be sensible to implement handicapping? So when
someone goes against players of higher rank, they get more points to
place units with. Giving a noob 4 extra firebots against the meat
grinder evens things out a bit. You'd probably need to rework the
scoring, and it would take some playtesting to determine how many... more »

LGGWG: More theme ideas
|
| |
* Fantasy Execs are kings, firebots are dragons, maxes are wizards, puffers are puffers, snipeys are archers, miners are dwarves * "Away Team" Execs are starship captains, everyone else is a redshirt of various specialties (except puffers, who are just puffers): engineering, heavy weapons, security, etc. Execs can be human, Gorn, Vulcan (not really... more »

Reskinning the game
|
| |
Hi guys. Long time no chat. I'm working on LGGWG now, and one of the projects is to get an artist to redo the art. Don't get me wrong, I love each of those gifs like they were my own children, but the 8-bit look is so yesterday. The art is completely separable from the gameplay, so swapping it out is a... more »

Running Sultan again
|
| |
Hi, LGGWGers - I'm running my play-by-web game, Sultan, again. It's here: [link] Sultan is a play-by-web game where you take the part of a moderately corrupt courtier competing to succeed the nearly-deceased ruler of an imaginary nation. Each day, you'll make decisions about how to manage... more »

Giant, hulking laptop advice
|
| |
Along with getting the art and testing done on LGGWG v23, I'm beginning to work on "LGGWG 2: The Quickening", the sequel to LGGWG. I need a machine that's big enough to really develop on that I can haul around with me. I imagine I'll mostly be commuting around the house (desk to couch, couch to desk), but now and then hit the road.... more »

Score question
|
| |
So, I came in second in the big 6-way recently, and I got a measly 77 points. The scores were like this: Game 6-518 Completed on: Fri Jul 13 17:39:51 2007 Pineapple Chunkers 143 Dobinators 127 Sarahmac's Slippery Slopes 93 Alex's Yellow Bellies 92 Wolff's Flying Tigers 88 Zombocomos 38 At the time, the PC's were below my rank, and WFT and Alex were above.... more »

Rather quiet
|

It's fairly quiet on the LGG front at the moment. No much happening here and only a few games being player ? Is everyone out enjoying the sun ?

Oops - resend

OK, my first reconstruction didn't have the shots from exactly the same place. Here it is revised - there's still a blast indicator on the 5-point door square. I'm sure you were all worried about this. :-) Dave

Error?
|
| |
So, this seems weird. Note my shot, and my aiming of the shot. The shot through the big lock I guess is maybe OK given the vagaries of the line of sight code, but when I was planning the shot, it indicated (with the fiery icon) that I'd hit the lock, which didn't happen. I think at least the display of shot path is broken, if not the LOS in... more »
