Hi Curt, Ron, et.al.,

Curt, Thinking about it, synchronizing "Y" with the movement of the carriage along "X" would offer some intriguing possibilities. The natural order of which would be to include the "Z" and then on to the "A". Like what Ron says "...you will have mechanical version of non software approach to CNC!" Reading and re reading your question, the thing that keeps coming to mind might be to use a templet and follower for both the "Y" and the "Z".

This is to all the revo guys out there, a simple idea I came with when you
do multiple jobs all the same
I was sick of setting stops and moving them all the time for differant parts
of the job then back again. so I got the idea for a fold away stop fold it
down when not in use and up when you need it I made and put 2 on the front

Hello everyone, Im back. ;-)
Ron do you have Bernie's e-mail address. I lost it,a while back.

With the worm gear, my hope was to take my Legacy to a new level, Very much like Tim's Wave attachment did for me, when I first started playing with it.
In my way of thinking, If I could make or find a worm gear that could mate up the drive screw, I could then build off of it.This would give me a way to synchronize the movement of the Y axis while the Legacy's carriage and spindle was moving along the X .

You might check with Bernie. He once talked about doing something along those lines. Based on the router being mounted more to the backside of the carriage the center of gravity is more to the backside of the machine. If it is racking you are trying to eliminate won't it still exist? If the Aceme screw was mounted on the backside then I think one could eliminate racking. I believe Legacy mounted their rack and pinion system to the backside with their CNC upgrades.
