Hi, and welcome to the seventeenth edition of my newsletter!  I'll be doing these monthly now, so here's the September 2012 edition!

2.  Speaker Visit & Lee Wind News:

I've been doing a number of GLBTQ History presentations at PFLAGs throughout Southern California as the school year begins - it's been very rewarding to see the impact learning about our queer history has on the youth and adults attending!  Here's what Douglas Pollock of Ventura County PFLAG had to say:

"I was completely amazed how Lee Wind was able to link together LGBT history, LGBT literature, LGBT issues about pronoun usage, the FAIR Act, and a bunch of other stuff in 45 minutes.  He recited Shakespearean sonnets from memory, and shared a bit of his own history as well.  Wow!  'Very effective,' according to the youth in attendance."

Thank you for bringing your passion and knowledge to Pasadena PFLAG. Your presentation was engaging and I could not believe how much information was packed into a short amount of time. Most of all I loved that you took names that we all know, like Abraham Lincoln, Tchaikovsky, and Jane Addams, and filling in the gaps that were not taught in our history classes growing up. Sharing this knowledge is so important for everyone, especially future generations who will be learning this in school as they grow up, not just learning it later in life.
