Thanks to all for chiming in about when they are free. From the
responses we've managed to book alternate Tuesdays at the Old
Broadcasting House (http://www.oldbroadcastinghouse.com/) starting
from our first meeting on the 21st April (apologies for the somewhat
late notice).

The meeting will start at around 6pm and go on till around 8.30pm at
which time I expect some of us will be wandering elsewhere for a few
drinks if anybody cares to join us. We will have access to the
projector, the whiteboard, wireless and power sockets for whoever
needs them.

So bring yourselves, bring your toys and projects and have fun.

Cheers
Jonny.

(p.s. I'd like to really thank Old Broadcasting House for letting us
host the event in their premises, its been extremely helpful. All they
ask in return is that we contribute towards the coffee, 50p a cup is
fine, I'm sure we can manage that.)

I'd suggest everyone come equipped with an idea of what they want from
their ideal hack space in Leeds by way of location, projects, funding,
events etc.

If anyone can't make it, let us know here if you want (just so we know
you're still interested!).
We'll be sure to report back what we discussed to this list, and the
website or wiki (if we get one set up soon enough).

I shall try to make it along, though I still don't have too much of an
idea for a project at the moment.

I'm sure something will come along soon.

Hey;

Sounds like a plan fear I'm new to Leeds so can't offer much on
suggesting a place but looking forward to meeting everyone.

Hi all,

Well I didnt post about my availability, but I can usually make it
after work [ although I currently work in Sheffield ] and on Hackspace
days am sure I can manage to work from home in Leeds.

I have a few projects I would like to move forward and I am more than
happy to pitch in and lend my programming ( C++, C, Assembler,
Actionscript, CSS, HTML, Drupal webby stuff ) abilities to any of the
projects that may come out of this space. My skills lie with games
programming, hardware and graphics mostly but I have been known to do
some soldering, as well as fold paper ( origami ) and design stained
glass windows. And dont get me started on Lego. . .

Personally I am hoping to be able to get more involved in robotics /
AI / electronic projects and anything else that interests me LOL, and
a shared space and shared mindset can only be a good thing.

See you all there...

Does that mean May's meetups will be on 5th and 19th? I'd love to make
those part of the Web Festival....alternatively, do any of you guys
wanna join the tinker.it physical computing workshop at OBH on 29th
May?

Most definitely, is anyone attending from Tinker?

I'm going to try to come along. Im not sure what I'm working on. I
gave up my stash of electronic junk when I moved over here, along with
my soldering iron. I'm rubbish at that stuff anyhow, but hoping to
learn by looking over people's shoulders.
I've got various software projects (Dojo Toolkit/Adobe AIR ish mostly)
on that I'll probably pick from, and work the RL/hardware angle as I
gain confidence/tools/parts. I'd bring along some Mindstorms, but me
and the kids just got a robot built this weekend and they want to be a
part of whatever is next.

I've got some Mindstorms gathering dust at home. I'll bring that in
next time if people want to get crafty...
(programmable Lego - what's not to love?)

Won't a paper envelope do? I'd have thought that was non-static. I've
bought RAM wrapped in paper in the past.

Run to Maplin and guy yourself something that comes in an anti-static
bag then re-use the bag for the Arduino. That way you get a bag and a
new toy :-)
