Leeds common place have a space, and despite thier recent ineptitudes (don't get me started!), they might be worth talking too about how they did it

also this is Yorkshire Forward , the north easts regional development agency (an arts coucil for non-art initiatives if you like) . if we approach them presenting ourselves as a sort of training and development initiative with some hight technology blue-sky research mumble mumble mumble they might throw great big lumps of cash at us. i will also try and get my mate Tim along to the next
meeting to talk about yorkshire forward as he used to work for them, and about funding in general.

am i missing something, or do they need links to each other? and a links page in general. i only found http://hackerspaces.org/wiki/Documentation and the leeds hackspacewiki through google. would be sweeter if i could navigate around the website in a more seamless fashion

Cool, I have been also been looking at Yorkshire Forward (Work with someone who used to work with them).
A guy called Stuart McFarlane is the IT sector manager for Digital and New Media, close friends with my colleague - I have his contact details and was going to give him a call. My sort of "pitch" is a local technology think tank, multiple technical specilists working togehter with the aim to work with the local comunity for training and developement/art events? When I put this forward to my collegue (Non-Tech) she got it. Apparently they don't really get involved in funding but would work with us to promote ourselves. I'll give him a call and see whats what.
