Dear all,

I'm delighted to announce that the current funds raised total figure is £2735.85. Thanks to Tara, Nav and Craig whose donations have come through along with the regular member subs this month.

The current total in the Co-Op bank account (which we used up until the autumn) is 98.38 and in the HSBC account we currently use we have £1375.17.

(The difference between the £2735 and the £1473.42 in the bank accounts is the outstanding rent for LHS1, HMRC, Companies House and broadband amounts that have been paid.)

As Rob/Mowcius has suggested, the lease on LHS2 could now be signed. Which is great news.

Both JP/Squirrel and I wish to stand down at this point. It has been a hard slog since September to get to this point and we're both delighted and exhausted at the prospect of actually continuing to push for help, money and involvement from the current members and any new ones.

This leads to three consequences.

1) The lease for LHS2 will need to be signed by Mick and Dan as the remaining directors or a new director who steps forward.

2) New financial director needed. This consists of managing the bank accounts, updating the tracking spreadsheets so we have accounts for the end of the year and updating the group. In total it probably takes 5 minutes a week to update the figures plus the time to write one email a month giving a financial statement to the mailing list and website. This needs to be done asap so that LHS2 can happen with minimum hassle of getting payments made etc.

3) The weekly meeting should move from OBH as someone has to be there from 17:30 on a Tuesday night to open up which is inconvenient. I'd suggest Foleys until LHS2 is available but obviously this is for the group to decide.

Updating the website is easy, most of the regular members already have a sign in for wordpress but Nav can issue them to anyone else wishing to contribute. The twitter account details will be passed onto Nav too so the account can stay updated.

We'll still float around as members and pay our monthly subs but I think we'll both be relieved to watch from the sidelines for a while.

Best wishes,

Alex and JP

This is how I can help out

Organise meetings with the landlord
Meet with electricians and other contractors
Help with sustainability goals
Be there most Saturdays to encourage new members
I also travel to London a bit and I can tie in London Hackspace

I am not interested in finances (I am shit)
I am not interested in chasing donations as I do not know enough about Leeds
