I would start by knowing the current ( Amp) amount for all LEDs, that will give you an idea of the battery size/ capacity and with that you determine the number of solar panels needed...

Hello,
I don't know the first thing about LEDs. I want to get some
information about how I can accomplish the following:
Power a large number of small LEDs (500) via battery (recharge with a
solar panel)
Arrange the LEDs on a flexible chasis (best to connect)
Use some kind of controller to create simple effects
At this point, I don't even know what to buy or how much to spend.
Any advice, links, suggestions would be appreciated.
