Hi Everyone,

Warm greetings from New Zealand.

My name is Wayne Mackintosh and I had the privilege of starting WikiEducator back in Feb 2006. WikiEducator is by far the most rewarding project of my career! My faith in education has been restored seeing thousands of educators around the world returning to the core educational values of sharing knowledge freely :-)

This online workshop marks an important milestone for WikiEducator -- namely the introduction of Rich Text Editing (RTE) / or WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get) editing.

Now educators around the world can have the best of two worlds:

  • An easy to use rich editing interface which means that Newbies will not have to struggle with remembering wiki syntax or
  • Standard wiki editing using "wiki syntax" for those educators who what to learn how to edit in other Mediawiki projects like Wikipedia or users who want to learn how to use some of the more powerful features of the Mediawiki software.
In this workshop we  will provide links to resources for both editing approaches (WYSIWYG or standard wiki editing).

Have fun and feel free to post any questions you may have on this list.

Great to meet you all online!

Cheers
Wayne

Hi Wayne,

It is great to have you with us, thanks for coming in. Wayne is really being very modest. WikiEducator wouldn’t be what it is today without his tireless commitment and dedication, so all of us are very honored for him to make the time, to come in. Feel free to ask any questions as we go along that come to mind. We are here to help you understand the concept, the way it is done and to use the technology.

Warm wishes,

Patricia
