Hi everyone --

I hope it's been a good week for you all.

I've just visited all the user pages that were submitted by participants during the first week.  Our community certification system is optional -- but L4C participants get personal attention and that's why I take time out on Friday evenings for this purpose <smile>.

Congratulations to everyone who has received a Wikiapprentice certification! This is based on our skills typology (see: http://wikieducator.org/WikiMaster ).   Where appropriate, I've added one or two tips on basic wiki syntax.

Basically we look for evidence of the different skills as demonstrated on your respective user page -- if you have been working elsewhere in the wiki -- that's fine, but if you want to apply our optional community certification, be sure to demonstrate your skills for the different levels on your actual user page. After completion of the workshop, should you want to be certified by our community, you will need to submit your request on this page: http://wikieducator.org/WikiMaster/Request_for_certification -- which we check on a regular basis.

If you have fallen a little behind on the tutorials -- don't worry, you can study these independently at your pace, or register for the next online workshop.
See: http://wikieducator.org/Learning4Content/Registration

Our motto is: "Just try it -- Our community will support you."

Cheers
Wayne

Hi Wayne,

Thanks for the feedback and encouragement. Just a question - In reference to your comment on my User Page that says, "You just need to practice "piped" links -- that its where you display a different name than the link itself -- see for example Piped links 03:26, 5 July 2008 (UTC))," wouldn't my following input be a piped link? I wrote: "I have undertaken to write a unit suitable for a distance education Study Guide. However, I am not yet sure what that unit will be on." In Editing it would read as, [[Target page|'''Study Guide''']]

Hi Yasmeen,

You're absolutely right -- and I stand corrected <smile>.  I missed your implementation of a piped link on your page sorry about that.

You're free to delete the note I left on your page.

Cheers

Thanks Wayne - I think I want to keep the first part of your message (smile) - it was VERY motivational.
