Need for Herbal Tea
My name is Sri Krishna Hari Das (Dr. Satish Gosain). I am a graduate in medicine from Delhi University passed in 1973. I had worked in different capacities in various hospitals in Delhi. Presently I am running Dr. Bharti Nursing Home in Hari Nagar New Delhi India for the past 30 years.
I grew up in Delhi, India and have enjoyed different types of teas and tisanes my entire life till I joined ISKCON 27 years back.
When I came to Krishna consciousness in May 1985 I was taught that Austerity (Tapah) is 3rd pillar of Dharma and it is necessary to safeguard it to progress in Krishna consciousness where it is required to avoid intoxicants of any kind.
I am a disciple of H.H. Gopal Krishna Goswami Maharaj for 1st as well as 2nd initiation.
I am a Congregational preacher with ISKCON Delhi and NCR and do internet preaching with 7000 members on my list. During my lectures in various areas in Delhi & NCR I found people interested in Krishna Consciousness were willing to follow four regulative principles but found it difficult to leave Black Tea.
Keeping in view of this utmost need to progress in Krishna Consciousness they wanted an alternative to black tea and coffee. Then I being a doctor they requested me to give an alternative to black tea with Health benefits.
Though being a doctor of modern medicine yet I studied Ayurveda and developed an Herbal Tea Infusion in 2002. I used to prepare a little quantity and distribute to congregation devotees who were getting ready for initiation (diksha) but could not leave black tea and it helped.
And then I realized over the years that this delightful, revitalizing, refreshing herbal tea with delicious taste and exotic flavor is not only helpful to Krishna Conscious devotees but it is a superb alternative to black tea and its body rejuvenating effect and health benefits are excellent. It is the tea/tisane for all ages.
It does not contain Black/Green Tea or Tulasi Leaves and is free from Caffeine and Tannin
Why this Herbal tea when I am 60 years of age when my daily needs are fulfilled from my Nursing home? At retirement age this tea is not my business venture to earn profits but the amount earned is spent on my preaching activities and also to give health benefits to devotees.
