South Bronx Environmental JusticeTrip
Friday, October 30th, 2009
This trip is designed for students, faculty, and staff who have an
interest in environmental justice. This tour is an opportunity to hear and
see how various sustainability projects has transformed the environment
and empowered the people of the Hunts Point community, once known as the
most toxic neighborhood in New York City.
Each project on this unique sustainability tour was initiated by the work
of Majora Carter, <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Environmental_justice>
environmental justice advocate, economic consultant, and founder of the
Sustainable South Bronx.
