I've had inquiries about what to do if you have dial-up and cannot
watch the videos. So, for those with dial-up, here is what you need to
know to participate:
Here's the deal:
Every week, I send out a clue. The goal is to find the object I have
hidden in Fayetteville. It is a metal drawer pull in the shape of a
leaf - that will always be the object I use unless something happens
to all the ones I've stockpiled and I can't order more. The clue will
always be posted in video form, but soon after that, I do not mind
releasing the clue here as well, and so I'll start a new thread for it
on the forum. There is no reason those without high-speed internet
cannot participate, so I will do what I can to accommodate that.
This week's hunt is a three-step deal where the first clue leads you
to a second clue, the second clue leads you to a third clue, which
leads you to the leaf. This time, the leaf is in a zip-lock baggie
with my business card in it, and directions on the card for what to do
next. Whoever finds the leaf and returns it to me gets a prize. (This
time, in order to get the prize, you have to also tell me all three
locations to prove you did the whole thing.)
Also keep in mind that if you find the envelope, read the clue, but
leave it there for the next person to find. If you find that the
envelope seal has been broken, it means that you aren't the first to
find it. As of now, one person has found clue #1 but that is it, so
it's still very much a race to the end. Unfortunately, the clues are
pretty darn hard and you'll almost certainly need the internet to
figure them out. So, here goes ...
Clue Number One:
When education turns to congressman, stop.
So, take this clue and see if you can find the location with the next
clue and you'll be on your way.
