“Reality has changed so chameleonlike before my eyes so many times,
that I have learned, or am learning, to trust almost anything
except what appears to be so.”
Maya Angelou

In a phone call today I heard myself say, “Let me give you a
reality check.” I then went on to explain that a desired outcome
expressed was a great ideal but not really possible.

Wait a minute! Who am I to say what is, and what is not, possible?

If there are enough people in that organization who share the same
vision, they could deliver that outcome I think is unrealistic or
unattainable.

How often do you limit your team’s potential? How often do you ask
people to pull back from their dreams to a less lofty goal? How
often do you, as a leader, have a smaller vision than the people
you are supposed to be guiding to higher heights?

Great leaders know that today’s reality does not have to be
tomorrow’s boundary.

Think . . . and act . . . like a leader!
