Email hacked?
|
| |
If any of you received an email from me this morning with a PHP link in it,
don't click on it. I think that my website (possibly WordPress) and old
email account (da...@idealsolutions.org) were hacked this morning at about
5am. I have deleted that email account and my WordPress installation to be... more »

Brushing off the dust
|

It's been awhile since we've had activity in this group. I'd like to get it going again. I started the group, and now I'm working for the Church. Initially, I was thinking LDS Tech might be a good place to start sending members of this group, but I'm thinking there might also be use for this group in helping the Church in building the Kingdom through Open Source... more »

What keeps you on Windows via slashdot
|
| |
Slashdot posted a question "What's keeping you on Windows?" ([link]) Years ago, this started a huge flamewar. Judging from today's comments, I took away 2 main themes. 1) Games keep people on Windows and 2) I got the impression that the question no longer seems to... more »

router firmware with white listing ability
|
| |
I recently bought a WRT54GS router. I installed DD-WRT and was shocked to find it doesn't have a white-listing capability that I've found on other routers in the past. They seem to act more... more »

I am starting to think the purposes of this group have been accomplished. When we started it our goal was to have a place for like-minded Open Source advocates and supporters to write, share, and promote code and technology that worked for the good of Zion. The Church took notice, and started [link] to continue this effort. Tom Welch, who is in charge of... more »

Content Filtering Specifics with Linksys WRT54G Routers
|
| |
It's more and more common for me to use the following steps for filtering at members' homes, usually by parental and/or bishop's request: 1. Assign a password to the router 2. Change all 3 DNS servers to reference OpenDNS' DNS servers instead of the ISP's DNS servers 3. Create an account on OpenDNS 4. Install the OpenDNS Client updater on a PC to retain filtering... more »
