I had to image through holes in the clouds and fortunately some
appeared near the impact time, but I didn't notice any changes on the
monitor. Maybe after I examine the individual frames I'll see
something. Even the scientists on the NASA channel seemed surprised at
the lack of a visual plume.
I was imaging with a Celestron 9.25, 2x barlow, and an Imaging Source
camera.
It was a big bust for all of us, but fun anyway. I was using a Celestron
1100 and 2X barlow, with clear skies in central Arizona and a newspaper
reporter hovering over my shoulder.
He was a bit disappointed but the story will now be about amateur astronomy
so it's all good.
