As there was a conflict on the second thursday of February
(Valentine's Day), and the third Thursday of February is the bi-
monthly movie night at Bela Dubby, we're going to get together on
Tuesday, February 19th at 6pm at the Blind Pig on West 6th Street.
As a few architecture events/initiatives have been recently 'launched'
or proposed, we'll update all on the ongoing progress and what can be
done to help. As always, we're looking to entertain new ideas and
activities to engage the local architecture and design community.
Additionally, we're looking to grow a email blast list to notify those
about upcoming events and such.
As may have been discussed before, but to reiterate, we meet
informally every month to provide a means for individually-led
architecture initiatives to be realized. As an example, Mike and
Raseem are taking the steps to establish a local Pecha Kucha chapter,
Ted has started a first and third of the month movie night at Bela
Dubby in Lakewood, we've taken a couple of architecture 'field trips',
Mike and I have been pulling together the '08 Cleveland Design
Competition, and Dru and David (and others) have been instrumental in
establishing a successful local Architecture for Humanity chapter.
If you're interested in participating in any of the above or have
another idea, come to the Blind Pig on Tuesday. While we understand
that anybody can organize an event on their own, we'd like to think
that we can assist in getting the word out, offer constructive
opinions, and do what we can to help get it done.
