Gil Sousa runs the list, but I don't know if he reads it regularly.

this is one list, that I admire - not only due to it's execellent level of content, but even more since during my 1-2 years on this list, has never needed moderation...

While we are talking about a bit off topic, I would like to throw in a question.  I administer a google group and lately I haven't been able to do any administrative tasks using mobile browser.  I need to routinely approve users and messages on a list that I moderate and having access from a mobile device is extremely handy.

However, what I find is merely the browsable content of the group.  No administrative menu can be seen.  Does anyone else have this problem?

Werner I hate the Google groups web interface , For one list only no problem. For someone who participates in more than 2 lists is completely improductive. Is it possible to have the group added to Gmane news server ? With Gmane we can have the list both in Gmane and Google and we can use a regular email client as Thunderbird to use the list.  I don't see any problem on this besides the list get public viewed which for some other groups which I participate didn't like the idea very much but if don't have anything against it, Which I presume to be the case here, there are only advantages. Check for yourself:

Fill in the form here:
 * http://gmane.org/subscribe.php
In the "Mailing list software" drop down menu, choose "google".
After you have pressed "Subscribe this mailing list" at the bottom of
the page, sit back and wait for a couple of days, perhaps a month.
  Best regards,    Adam

You would not be the only one. I abhor web-based interfaces to email.

But you can do that with Gmail as well. Or is it just the list that you want via Thunderbird, and not the rest of your Gmail?

Doesn't Google Groups have a subscription option like Yahoo Groups has, to let you have list mail delivered by regular email?

As far as I can tell, you'll have to switch to the "desktop" version of your mobile browser in order to maintain the functionality associated with managing/administering your group. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the windows, and click the "Desktop" hyperlink.

Yes, It does . But in my opinion is worst than yahoo which I didn't like either. The web interface sucks for list management. It's just my opinion but would be one resource more to have the group in gmane also. It will work more as an interface becaus will point to google anyway and it's free.

Rgds.

Fabulousmuller:

Say what you will, but gmail is 'hands-down' the best email available, better than any other stand-alone or web bases solutions available.  I agree that the list management interface for google groups isn't great, but as far as viewing and posting to the list, I find gmail conversation style approach extremely useful.  I have set up filters to sort out emails from lists like this.
